College vs Jewellery
Hello Darklings... If anyone still reads this since I haven't actually written anything since last Halloween I believe, the reason for this is I'm now in college again, this time doing contemporary art practise, HND. This has taken up almost all of my time, so there is very little time for me to fit in any jewellery making, even my plans for a YouTube tutorial channel has been scuppered, however the art course finishes in August this year, so I'm counting down the months!
So now to the jewellery, I have been able to make two pieces of jewellery which is frustrating, because I'm so use to making jewellery in vast quantities! Even though I haven't made any jewellery in a while I don't think I've lost my touch! I won't be able to give an in depth description as again college work is taking up most of my time, which is also why this blog is so short unfortunately, However I hope you enjoy it anyway!
Sparkly Bat Wing Pendant
So here is a quick run down of this pendant, it's made from polymer clay and every part of it was hand sculpted, the beautiful glass bead was pressed into the clay before the clay was cured/hardened and the beautiful purple mica powder was dusted over the clay before it was cured. After being cured/hardened I applied a glaze to give the pendant a lovely sheen.
Boho Style Earrings
I must admit I am a fan of the boho style and because of this I decided to make some boho earrings, the beads around the bottom of the hoop were wrapped into place with silver wire, the beautiful blue flower ( which is made from polymer clay was bought I did not make it) was also wire wrapped onto the silver hoop. Wire wrapped jewellery can be very simple to make especially a simple design such as these earrings.
Well I hope you enjoyed this short little blog, you can leave a comment below if you have any questions. Keep it spooky Darklings!
