Fun with polymer clay!!!

Tentacle pendant made yesterday

Polymer clay some people ask me what is it? Well its plastic clay and you bake it in the oven to set the plastic into its cured form. Sounds strange doesn't it?, but to a jewellery artist it's the norm.

Unlike metal clay, polymer clay can take much more wear and tear when your working with it, it doesn't dry out, saying that It's not so pliable when a room or the weather is rather cold, it's best to work with it in a warm room so the clay is more pliable.

Its fantastic to work with especially for fun and colourful jewellery. When I first worked with it I was stumped, I didn't have any idea's just come to me, what would people like?, So as time went on I decided not to design what other people wanted, but what I would like wear and I'm sure there are others out there who like what I like, well I'd like to think so anyway!

One of my favourites I made this yesterday

I tend to make quite spooky and strange jewellery, I suppose it's an extension of my personality, much like any other artist there's a little bit of us in our work, which makes an artists work just that little bit extra special, because it's unique. I would encourage people to buy handmade things, because your buying something that's unique and well made, I personally buy handmade things myself and the items are just fantastic

On another little point people ask me do I teach classes in jewellery, I don't teach classes yet but I might just cave in if people keep asking (laughs)

I hope you enjoyed reading this, leave a comment if you wish :)
